Scene : Gallery
We will be playing with light and shadow in this gallery scene. The silences and the darkness of the gallery signifies no matter how magnificent the paintings are, they will always be rested there.
Until the next there when where people come and in stare in at it's marvelous faces.
it seems very quiet and calm night when a person walk in with a briefcase in his hand towards a plain artifacts.
but behind that plain artifacts lies secrets and mysteries that never been discovered. He put his briefcase on a high table there and turn around.
Importance of values come in here. Instead of using different light sources to create a well-lighted indoor setting, we decided to only use a single light and place it on top of the artifact along with the person that steps in into the picture to create more mysterious atmosphere.
Scene : The Rooftop 1st meeting
The rooftop is a place really near to my heart. The place is high and make me feel strong and free, even if im alone im still feel so powerful and free since i'm at high place. Higher than anyone else and my roof is the clouds and the wind is my fan .
The blogger always meet up with the journalist at the rooftop, the journalist might feel intimidated with the present of the journalist. By calling the journalist to her place, she feel in charge of the journalist.
Next, roof top is very privacy, quiet and calming. From that we can see that the blogger is a calm person and she's the type of person who live in her own world.
From the rooftop, we can see lots of light and building but you can't tell which building is which.. Isn't that confusing ? The blogger is a confusing person, at first glance, she look fine and pretty just like the building. But when you try to read her, you can't tell her personality. Like the building you're trying to figure which one is which .
She look at building from a distance, from that we can say she's an observant. She's the one who observe and study the journalist without the journalist even realize it.
Rooftop is a hidden and secret place, people can't see who is really up at the rooftop from below. The blogger keep a lots of secrets and she stay hidden. She keep her privacy to herself and she's the type of person who hide from people.
We used rules of third which we place both character at the intersection of the line at the side of the frame. This gonna attract the viewer attention from the city view to the character.
Scene : Tunnel
What make film noir unique is its in black and white. The high contrast between the black and white create simplicity and focus to certain point. The different tones of black and white also make it easier to differentiate the perspective.
As seen in the picture above, this tunnel was taken in the dark with only one light present at the end of tunnel. This create the typical film noir.
the light at the end of the tunnel gives hope. Whenever we're lost in a dark place, people always say " Find light source." Isn't that the sign of hope ?
The journalist finally see her way out, she sees hope and goes straight into the tunnel without knowing its a one way tunnel and leaves her no other way to run. And shes's trapped, trapped in her own grave.
In our movie, the silhouette of the main character define the scared feeling and by using silhouette the viewer can easily focus on the main character body flow.
COMPOSITION VALUE
Different tones of black and white create different feeling and it can be applied using various technique. In my opinion, high contrast light is more appealing and its easier to differentiate between object. But a little bit of shadow create that smooth feeling as it gives you the highlight certain to certain areas. :)
METAPHOR AND ANALOGIES
There will be a lot of message hidden here and there and there. The shadow and object might contain certain sign as we try to put more context behind our movie.
The present of the technologies in every scene signify the journalist is being watched by the blogger and the cult without her even realizing it.
