CONTEXTUAL : Ideation Crit

We are assigned to a long term project as this project will be review each week throughout the semester. And the final work will be preview to Taylors University students. Isn't that interesting ? :p So here's the deal, we have to create a short movie with CULT theme using film NOIR style. ooo, mind blown.. hahaha ,

Back to bussiness. .

We come up with really amazing ideas such as aliens, code breaking, real life story and bla blaaa.. but we settle to this story line.

So, we've decided to settle on this. But ideas keep running through our head and we decided to change the villain character to a reporter. I came up with that idea since when we were discussing and we felt like there's a big hole in the storyline.

We also created a timeline on how the flow of the story will be to get the clear picture of the whole story..

Oh yes gurl ... and guys i guess, we need it :D

CONTEXTUAL DEFINITION :

to figure out how this cult have form, we've decided to had a discussion...

I came out with the idea of code breaker. We've got our base idea already and now, we have to figure out how to create a story out of this..

This cult are seekers,  they seek for knowledge and answer to unsolved question of the world. They believe there's codes in every geniuses artwork,

Hence, they steal artworks to obtain codes behind every artworks and practice it in their daily life so that they can decode bigger code that unlock the biggest code mystery.

CHARACTERS

DESIGN REFERENCE

We watched blade runner to understand the concept of film noir and get clearer view of how we should film our movie.

I notice that this guys always fold origami throughout the movie and at the end of the movie which the main character pick up the origami, I knew straight away that he's there.

We decided to leave hints throughout the movie like blade runner which the chief always wear watch whenever he's present. but we've decided to changed our chief character to blogger.

BUT ...

the same concept still apply to the blogger, whenever the blogger present, there  will always be a laptop nearby her.

MANIFESTOS

We want these cult to globally affect human life and have great impact to human daily life but none of us even aware of these cult.

They seek answer to every possibility and take many sources of the world for their own benefits.

NARRATIVE / DIALOGUES.

Cult steal codes and the reporter finds out about it. As a very enthusiastic reporter, she do some research and investigation on  this cult.

During her process, she came across anonymous blogger which seem to know endless information about the cult. She go and find the reporter and work hand in hand with the blogger to continue her research.

Cult notice the reporter intelligence and they know they can use the reporter to break the code. They invite the reporter to join them. Blinded by her enthusiastic, she joined the cult with the intention to dig information about this society.

Without the reporter notice it, the blogger is the fanatic fan of the cult and she want to join the society badly but sadly she have been rejected several times. The reporter keep visiting the blogger to extract more background about the cult as the cult only give order to the reporter to carry out their work in process to solve the code.

Despite the jealousy, the blogger want to help the cult badly that the blogger push the reporter deeper into cult where she only gets used to break the codes..

...........................................

As the time goes, the codes is solved with the help of the reporter. The cult feel the reporter have no used to the cult. After the codes have been already broken, new information has been acquired. Slowly the reporter realized what is going on and want to get out from the cult. But its already to late.

The cult could not risk the new information to leak to the public, that they decided to kill the reporter as the reporter know too much about their society.

After they do all they dirty work, they tested they new acquired knowledge on breaking the ultimate code and it was a success. They carry on learning and presented it to their leader. They also mapped out everything and meet up at a secret location

UNTIL...

the Blogger appear..

CONTEXTUAL : Secret Society

RESEARCH : SECRET SOCIETY

What is secret society ?

A secret society is a club or organization whose activities and inner functioning are concealed from non-members. The society may or may not attempt to conceal its existence. The term usually excludes covert groups, such as intelligence agency, or guerrilla insurgencies, which hide their activities and memberships but maintain a public presence. The exact qualifications for labeling a group as a secret society are disputed, but definitions generally rely on the degree to which the organization insists on secrecy, and might involve the retention and transmission of secret knowledge, denial of membership or knowledge of the group, the creation of personal bonds between members of the organization, and the use of secret rites or rituals which solidify members of the group
